Join us on a service learning journey into Nanny Town (Moore Town, Jamaica) one of the few Uncolonized Freeland in the Western Hemisphere, to uncover the mysteries of Queen Nanny and the Maroons.
This Queen Nanny & The Maroons Service Learning Ed-Venture is a 5/day 5/night service learning project that empowers you and your group to build upon the legacy of one of the worlds most renowned women, Queen Nanny, Leader of the Maroons.
Groups can select from one of several Service Learning Projects to participate. (Health Care Center Development, Environmental Protection Project, Maroon Town Bottled Water Project, Maroon Town Cultural & Tourism Development Project)
The Maroons are an intregal part of Jamaican history and culture as they were the catalyst to the Slave rebellions throughout the island which ultimately led to Jamaica becoming one of the second country to free itself from English colonialism. The first being Haiti’s revolt…
